Claude "Fido" Speed was an American career criminal. Born in San Francisco, he took part in illegal street racing in Red County and Flint County, California before 1992, when he met Catalina Vialpando. Catalina abandoned her old boyfriend Carl Johnson and fell in love with Claude, as she believed that he was more of a man than CJ. In 1999, Claude headed to Anywhere City, where he made a lot of money by working for the Zaibatsu Corporation, Zoo Yakuza, Loonies, Jerkov crime family, Rednecks, Scientists, and the Hare Krishna before killing all of their leaders when they found out that he was working for all of the sides in hostile actions against each other. In 2001, his partnership with Catalina ended when she betrayed him for being "too small-time", and he made money by working for several criminals in New York City such as Salvatore Leone, Asuka Kasen, and Donald Love before killing Catalina at a dam to the north of the city.

Speed was born in Doherty, San Francisco, His grandparents from Father Ajaccio Corsia were Italian, and his paternal grandmother was from Sicily from Palermo, and the mother was a French Canadian, and her mother was Italian Corsican. where he owned a garage that he used to store automobiles. Claude was an afficionate of racing, and in 1992 he met Catalina Vialpando, the cousin of Varrios Los Aztecas gang leader Cesar Vialpando. He became her new boyfriend after she ditched Carl Johnson, and they committed robberies together for a while.

In 1999, Claude arrived in Anywhere City, United States, with only a small amount of money. His friend told him to explore the city and find opportunities, and he started out in the Downtown District. Claude gained his first job when he was called via payphone by Elmo, the leader of the Loonies gang, who nicknamed him "Jumbo". He told Claude that Pizza Cake messed up his favorite food, and he wanted Claude to pick up a bomb in University and use it to blow up a restaurant. The bomb was poorly-made, and it did not blow up the restaurant, so Elmo had Claude instead destroy a Pizza Cake delivery van. Claude headed to Avalon, where he destroyed the van using his machine gun, and Elmo sent him $20,000 as a reward.
Next, Claude contacted Elmo on a payphone again, and Elmo had him pick up some explosives to destroy a new Zaibatsu Corporation drug that was bad for the Loonies' reputation. He drove his red Wellard car to Zarelli, where he picked up some explosives on a bridge. Next, Elmo told him to crisp the DJ of Futuro FM, and he blew up the transmitter. He was given $20,000 for ending the corporate cash-in that was drug-induced madness.

Trey Welsh
After having done two jobs for the Loonies gang, Claude contacted the Zaibatsu Corporation leader Trey Welsh, who nicknamed him "Gecko". He told him that the Yakuza were flooding the streets with cheap merchandise, so he had him supply his dealers fast. Claude entered a surgical green Beamer and went to Zarelli, where he picked up the shipment. Claude only had three minutes to put the blow on the streets, and he had to make four deliveries. He made the first to a dealer on a crosswalk in Omnitron, another to another drug dealer on a street corner in Omnitron, one to a dealer on a corner in Flotsam, and the last to one in an Avalon alley. Trey Welsh told him that he could make further use of his services, and gave him $20,000.
Trey called him again from a payphone and told him that an informant was selling Zaibatsu secrets to the police, and told him that a cop car was parked down at the Zarelli police station. After picking up the cop car, he drove to the Avalon Train Station, where he met the snitch Shady. He picked up Shady in his cop car, as Shady believed him to be a policeman. He took him to the Zaibatsu Car Crusher in Northeast Zarelli, and he left the car. A crane pulled the car up and put it into the crusher, and the car exploded when it was crushed. He was given another $20,000 for his services.
Next, he talked with Yakuza leader Johnny Zoo, who nicknamed him "Kosai". He told him that the Zaibatsu discovered his experiments with Doctor Zitzaki, and told him to collect a marked car at University to help him. Zitzaki waited in the District Hospital, and he brought him to the new J-Lab after picking him up. With Zitzaki safe, Yakuza drug production could continue, and they paid him $20,000 for a job well done, and said that they could work with each other again. Before he headed to his next job, Claude killed a line of six Elvis clones by blowing up his car on University's border with Altamount.
Claude talked to Johnny Zoo again on another payphone, and Johnny told him that he was having money illegally transferred to his bank account. He needed Claude to help his inside man Hiroshi, and told him to take a vehicle and firepower provided to him. He drove a green Shark van to Flotsam, and Johnny told him that Hiroshi would not come out until the two City Bank guards were out of the way. Claude gunned the two guards down with an Uzi, but Johnny told him that somebody tipped off the cops. Johnny gave Claude $5,000 so that he could respray the car to throw the cops off his trail. He resprayed in Funabashi, and brought the car back to the safehouse, where Johnny gave him $20,000.
Claude then returned to Johnny, talking to him on a payphone. Johnny told him that the Loonies still owed him money for merchandise, and he told Claude to get some wheels, go to University, and get his money. Claude killed all five Loonies with an SMG when they refused to pay him back, and Johnny told him to get a Mary Jane's Ice Cream van so that he could enter the Sunnyside Asylum - the Loonies loved ice cream. He took one in Avalon, and drove it to the Sunnyside Asylum. He rigged the bombs and fled the area, and the truck blew up the happy gas factory. Johnny Zoo gave Claude $40,000 for his hard work.
Next, Claude spoke to Johnny on another phone, and he was told that he had to take Gama Rei from the city hospital fast, and because he was in plastic surgery, Claude needed a Medicar. He collected him from the hospital and drove him back to the safehouse before the Loonies could dispatch assassins to kill him (he had stolen Loony secrets). He delivered him to the safehouse, and was given another $40,000 for rescuing him.
Claude did another job for the Yakuza, with Johnny telling him to tail his top man, whom he suspected of being an informant. He tailed him to his place in Funabashi, and Johnny told him to make him suffer the Yakuza way by meeting with the ancient torture master, Refried Noodle. He drove his red B-Type to pick up Refried Noodle, and he was given a machine-gun by Refried Noodle. Johnny told Claude that the traitor and his men had to be killed, and he ran him over with a car. Johnny told him that loyal assassins were the future, and rewarded him with $40,000.
Claude's friend then called him, telling him that he could leave the Downtown District. However, he decided to do some more work, and "Elmo" called him, telling him that he should meet his friend Cosmo Trouble, who had a "bonkers mad" job for him. However, when he arrived in the Altamount alley, Elmo called him, telling him that his mad brother was the one who called him, and the call was a hoax. Three serious hitmen were sent to kill Claude, but he killed all three of them. Elmo gave him $40,000 for killing all of the hitmen.
Claude resumed work for the Loonies, and Elmo called him, telling him that Yakuza drugs were making the insane people sane, which was bad news for the loonies. Elmo had him pick up bombs from the university and blow up the J-Lab. Claude picked up a silenced machine-gun and some explosives in an alley, and he headed to the J-Lab. He killed the Yakuza guards, and planted a bomb on the reactor. He climbed the stairs and stood above the reactor as it exploded, and Elmo told him that he was a "real cool cat" and that the Loonies were "safe in insanity". He gave him $40,000, and told him that they could do business some other day.
Shortly after, he decided to do more work for Elmo. Elmo told him that the cops had a new Dementia limo in their car compound, and he wanted it, so he told Claude to meet his friend Dodo for some help in University. When he arrived, Dodo told him that he arranged for a gun and some bombs to be left behind the Harman Hotel in Altamount, and told him that he would like to come with him, but it was bath night. After collecting the materials, Claude was told by Elmo that the guard at the compound was too nice, so he had to meet with Lance, who would distract the guard for $1,000 a pop. Lance's allure worked, and Claude snuck around the compound, killing the man guarding the car, and he used Molotov cocktails to blow up the door locks. After doing so, he took the car back to the asylum, and Elmo told him that he loved the new car. He gave him $40,000 for being so thoughtful.
Claude decided to work with the Zaibatsu Corporation again for some more money, and he was told that the Loonies slipped some drugs into the water supply and hit his drugs business. He told Claude that he needed a special Loony Dementia, and Claude stole the Dementia that he had given to Elmo back from the asylum. Claude rigged the car with bombs from the bomb shop and returned it to the Loony garage, blowing it up. Next, Trey Welsh told him that some crack Loonies were on their way, so he picked up some "Z-Men" (Zaibatsu gunmen) from Northwest Zarelli. He picked up the men and returned to the garage, and they nailed the band of crazies. For this, Claude was given $40,000.
Claude continued working for the Zaibatsus, talking with Trey Welsh on the phone. Claude was told that the Yutes gang crushed new Zaibatsu cars for scrap, so he was told to meet a snitch called Lefty by the casino to find out what he knew. He took a red Wellard to Funabashi, and he beat up Lefty until he told him that the Yutes boss was at the Easy Rider Whore House. He stole a Yute car from the South Docks and picked up the boss, and took him to the car crusher there, where he killed him in his own crushing machine, showing him how it worked first-hand. He became richer by $40,000 for eradicating the threats.
Next, Claude was told by Trey that a Third World Bank Van was circling the city, and he needed him to steal it so that he could get some clean cash for a cop pay-off. He picked up a unit of Z-Men, and he picked up the cash from the bank. He delivered the truck back to the safehouse, where he was told to find Rollo Tomassi, a lifelong friend of the Zaibatsu who could swap the clean cash for the cop pay-off. He gave the package to the cop, and the cop told him that the price was going up. However, the package blew up, and Trey Welsh jokingly commented that the price went down. Trey told him that he reminded the cops not to bite the Zaibatsu hands that fed them, and he gave hm $40,000 for his fine performance.
Claude was contacted by Trey again, and Trey told him that his biologist Doctor Cubana was being tortured for information in one of two Yakuza cars circling the city. Trey told him to destroy the cars before he could squeal, and he did so. Trey told him that people could be replaced but secrets could not, and he gave Claude $60,000 for his excellent work.
Claude did another job for Trey, again involving a bank van. He needed used bank notes for his contraband drug operation, so he needed Claude to steal the bank van once the guard made his pickup, but he could not be seen, or else the job was screwed. He captured the van, and escaped the Yakuza that pursued them, before reaching the safehouse. Trey gave him $60,000, and said that he would see him when he got back from visiting the Moon, finishing all of the Zaibatsu missions.
He decided to repair his relations with the Yakuza by stealing a SWAT van as compensation for Johnny Zoo's impounded car. After a gun battle with the police and SWAT, he took the van and delivered it to Johnny's garage, and he was given $60,000 by Johnny, who told him that the Yakuza would have many jobs for someone with Claude's talents.
Johnny urgently called Claude soon after, telling him that military top brass were angry at him and were sending a tank and ground troops to trash his exotic cars. He blew up the tank with an RPG, and Johnny told him that he was his first call if the military struck. He sent him $60,000 for his services.
Next, Elmo called Claude, telling him that taxi drivers in the city would not give him a ride. He selected three taxi cabs for special attention, and told Claude to destroy them. He destroyed all three of them by putting them in the crusher, and Elmo told him that he could get taxis super quick because of the message that Claude sent. Because he liked him so much, Elmo gave Claude $60,000.
Elmo called Claude again, telling him that he was bored, so he wanted to start a gang war. He told Claude to take a Zaibatsu Corporation Z-Type and run down Johnny Zoo's three top Yakuza. He ran down all of the Yakuza lieutenants in Funabashi (Yakuza country), and then had him steal a Yakuza Miara and run over Trey Welsh's three top Z-Lieutenants in the Zaibatsu quarter. After doing so, Elmo gave him $60,000, telling him to stick with the Loonies because they always had the most fun.
Later on, Claude's friend told him that he pissed off the Yakuza, Zaibatsu, and Loony bosses, and now they all wanted him dead. He ran over both Trey Welsh and Johnny Zoo, and he killed Elmo by shooting him with an RPG, making him fly dozens of feet into the air before falling to the ground, dead. With this done, Claude decided to go to the Residential District.
Residential District[]
Billy Bob Bean
Claude's friend told him that the district was home to the roughneck Rednecks, the smart SRS Scientists, and the cunning Zaibatsu Corporation. Claude headed to the rural area of the city, and he was called on a telephone by Billy Bob Bean, who nicknamed him "Rooster". He told him that Montana wired new explosives to the rear of a pickup truck, and he told him to collect it. He told him to test the bombs by Fat Boy Jim's trailer while he was bowling, and the explosion destroyed the trailer. Billy Bob had him go and get another truck, and he used it to blow up a barricade to the key access point of Zaibatsu territory in Redemption. Billy Bob gave him $30,000 for the job, and told him that he could later become one of the "good ol' boys".
Billy Bob Bean called Claude again, and told him that both the SRS and Zaibatsu were troubling him, so he had him steal a Z-Type. He told Claude to run down 50 SRS Scientists in Stromberg, Dominatrix, Xanadu, Morton, Largo, and in their compound. Next, he stole a Scientist Meteor and ran down 50 Z-men in Cayman and The Village, for which he was given $30,000.
Next, Claude decided to work with the Zaibatsu Corporation to get more connections in the area. He headed to a payphone, where he was contacted by Red Valdez, who nicknamed him "Gecko". Valdez told him that he needed him to bomb the SRS Clone Test Center in a way that looked like a redneck attack, so he stole Montana's pickup, loaded with lethal explosives. Then, he drove it to the Clone Test Center, where he parked it in front of the building. When the bombs were detonated, it caused a giant explosion that destroyed the SRS building. Valdez gave him $30,000 for a job well done.
Valdez contacted him again soon after, telling him that he wanted him to steal a new SRS flamethrower being transported across the city in an SRS security van. Because the van had a new locking mechanism, he needed to persuade the driver to get out, so he stole a cop uniform and a cop car and pulled over the van. He stole the van and took it to a garage, and Valdez told him that the flamethrower could only be used if it was put on a firetruck. Claude stole a firetruck and attached the flamethrower to it, and he barbecued 30 rednecks at the Mobile RV Park.
After that, Speed decided to introduce himself to the SRS, led by Dr. LaBrat. Called "THC-103" by LaBrat, he was told that Zaibatsu operatives had secret SRS data and he wanted it back. Claude stole a taxi and picked them up, and he drove to South Docks, where a crane picked up the taxi and threw it into the water, killing the Z-men. He was given $30,000 for the job as a reward.
Next, he decided to do another job for the scientists. He was told that the Zaibatsu Corporation and the Rednecks were going to make pace, so he told him to pick up the old factory bus and pick up the delegates. He drove back to the Scientist Research Center for an experiment, and when he stopped the bus, several SRS clones fired on the bus until it exploded, killing all of the Z-men and rednecks. Claude was given $30,000. Impressed with Claude's services, LaBrat called him again and told him to reduce the rising Zaibatsu population to an "acceptable statistical median", killing 47 of them. He was given $50,000 for his wonderful work.
Afterwards, Claude returned to LaBrat for more work, and LaBrat told Claude that he wanted to experiment on a redneck man called Gran'pa, and he told Claude to win the rednecks' confidence. He did so by killing three escaped Loonies for Gran'pa's grandson Dirk, who gave him his pickup truck as a reward. Claude took the pickup to Gran'pa, who entered it. Claude then drove the truck to the SRS lab, and Gran'pa was taken by the scientists. Claude was rewarded with $50,000 more. Next, Claude did another job for the SRS, with LaBrat telling him that drunken Rednecks were using his high-powed generators for target practice. Claude drove to the generators, and he killed all of the rednecks, keeping at least one of the generators intact. with the SRS still at full power, he was given $50,000.
Next, Claude returned to the rednecks, and Billy Bob Bean told him that some Zaibatsu hitmen found out that Billy Bob wanted them dead, so he had Claude assassinate them for him. He killed all of them, and he headed down to the Grand Central Train Station Car Park to kill mercenary Flambo Cortez, who just got into town. Claude killed him and his "pussies", and he was given $50,000. Next, he was told by Billy Bob that the police chief was expecting a shiny new Benson, but he was giving Billy Bob trouble. Claude stole a Benson and rigged it with a bomb, and delivered it to the cop. The cop gave him $50,000 for the delivery, but when he entered the car, it blew up.
Claude resumed work for the rednecks soon after, returning to the Mobile RV park. Billy Bob told him that he wanted to surprise Jungle Montana with a tank for his birthday, so Claude stole a tank from the army base and delivered it to Disgracelands, where Billy Bob gave him $50,000. He told him to give him a call real soon, as there was always plenty of work for the likes of him at Mobile RV.
Next, Claude proceeded to do more work for Red Valdez, who told him that the rednecks and scientists were moving contraband through the city, and he wanted it all. Claude stole the four loaded vehicles for him, stealing the first pickup filled with pills from the Redneck Bowling Alley. Next, he stole a Meteor containing clone serum and "two hot Bio-Bitches". Valdez warned him that the next one was tricky: he needed him to steal Bean's Red Limousine from Disgracelands. Finally, he needed a cop car, but Valdez told him that he needed him to get a truck cab first. He stole one in Stromberg, and Valdez told him to collect the trailer from behind the cop station. He took it to a crane, which unloaded the cop car. Valdez told him that he exuded Zaibatsu style as their Number One Covert Operative, and asked him if he fancied to join him to "bang a Bio-Bitch" after giving him $50,000.
Valdez's next job was more overt: he wanted him to infiltrate the SRS Research Center and destroy their Cold Fusion Generators. He headed over a line of rooftop ramps and then along the old railway track, infiltrating the center. He destroyed the two fusion generators with the rocket launcher alongside several Z-men in a battle that left many scientists dead, and Valdez told him that cold fusion would remain a laboratory myth. He was given $50,000, and Valdez told him to stay in touch.
Valdez later called Claude, telling him that he had special jobs for Claude in the future. But first, he needed him to prove himself by stealing a SWAT van. When he proved that he could handle a SWAT team, Valdez had him steal a special agent car to further prove himself. Claude used the electricity gun to shock large rows of cops coming after him, and he stole a special agent car. When he delivered it to Valdez's garage, Valdez gave him $50,000 as a reward. Claude's friend told him that he had enough money to leave the Residential District, but he decided to stay for some more cash.
Claude received another phone call from Valdez, who wanted to see how he could handle extreme situations. He told him that some Z-Men would join him after he headed to the Mall in Dominatrix. He was told to kill 100 scientists at the Dominatrix Mall, but without the use of vehicles - Valdez wanted to see how well he could handle firearms under duress. He stole an invisibility outfit at one point and used it to ambush the scientists with his machine gun, and in recognition of his ruthlessness, Valdez gave him $70,000.
Claude decided to do more work for Valdez afterwards, and Valdez told him that he needed a diversion to distract the cops. He headed to the video store for further directions, and a man there told him to head up the steps and across the pipes to get inside the cop station. He told him to destroy the rooftop generator to open the exit and then steal the trailer with a special agent car on it, and after he did so, he was given $70,000. Valdez told him that one day he might share the reason for his mirth with him, and he completed the Zaibatsu jobs.
He decided to work for the SRS Scientists again, and he spoke with LaBrat. LaBrat told him that his prototype remote-control taxi needed a good operator like him, and he told him that if he performed well, further work would be available. He beat the record of travelling around the track five times, and he was then told to pick up three suspected SRS traitors. Claude used the remote control to crash the taxi, blowing it up with the traitors in it. He was given $70,000 for the job.
Next, LaBrat had him shut down the H2000 Water Company, and he drove to the plant in Xenoton. He destroyed the four turbines and the generator, and he escaped the plant in a golden Stretch limousine. With the plant destroyed, the SRS could continue with their cunning plan, and they gave Claude $70,000 for his outstanding contribution.
Claude headed to a payphone at the trailer park to do another job for the rednecks, and Billy Bob Bean told him to have some fun. He told him that whoever destroyed five SRS Meteors was "the King", and after doing that, he blew up five Z-Types in The Village. Billy Bob gave him a $70,000 bonus, and told him to come by the RV park for "King Karaoke" (singing Elvis songs).
Finally, Claude decided to finish off his jobs in the Residential District by helping out Billy Bob Bean one last time. Billy Bob told him that he had some bad times with the Alma Mater Prison Guards some years ago, so he told him to get payback. However, he would need to get arrested, and Billy Bob told him that the cops would have to think that he was selling Beany Liquor. He talked to the liquor-man outside the strip club, and the cops arrested him. Now that he was in prison, he was told that The Hump had his instructions. The Hump gave him an emergency keycard and gave him a uniform and an S-Uzi Machine Gun from the guard room. When he started to shoot at the guards, a riot started, and he killed the guards. He blew open the prison gates after using the keycard on the locking mechanisms, and he headed back to the Disgracelands. Billy Bob Bean called him a trouble-maker extraordinaire, and gave him $70,000 for the job.
Afterwards, his friend warned him that the SRS, Zaibatsu, and Redneck bosses were all out to kill him. He ran over LaBrat, blew up Valdez's Z-Type with an RPG, and shot down Billy Bob with a machine-gun. His friend told him to move out to the Industrial District before things got any worse.
Industrial District[]
Claude arrived at the Industrial District, an area of the city controlled by the Russian Mafia, the Hare Krishnas, and the Zaibatsu. He was first called by the Krishna leader Sunbeam, who told him that the Zaibatsu were building shopping malls on holy Krishna land. Sunbeam had Claude pay a visit to their construction yard and end the destruction. The gates were locked, so Sunbeam told him to visit Leo the Locksmith, the only person who could open it. He headed to the water towers in Krimea, where Leo was busy throwing Molotov Cocktails at a generator until it exploded. He drove Leo back to Lattero, where Leo opened the gates. Sunbeam told Claude to kill the construction manager, and he also destroyed a polluting Zaibatsu truck. Sunbeam gave him $40,000 and told him to join him in song, as they had temples to build. Next, he returned to Sunbeam, who told him that the Krishna program of automotive clearance had been halted by the cops. He stole a cop car in Narayana and delivered the car to the cranes, and for destroying the cars, Sunbeam gave him $40,000 and told him that they would enjoy a full-on naked Krishna festival in his honor, and told him to keep in touch.
Claude made more connections by talking with Zaibatsu leader Uno Carb, who told him that he needed him to neutralize three key operatives from rival outfits. He first collected a special package, which he was told was unstable. He headed to meet Bilovski, the "crazed Russian weapons pervert", and delivered the package to him. The bomb exploded, killing Bilovski. Next, Carb told him that he needed a hot dog van to continue the second part of the job. He was told to meet another Z-operative, who had more lethal merchandise for him. He drove the poisoned hot dogs to the target in Maharishi, and the man suffocated on the poison shortly after asking Claude if he had any secrets for him. For the last part, he was told to meet a Z-contact on the roof to dispose of a Russian. He drove a remote-controlled Kovski Limousine into Pravda, the Russian area, and some Russians who were looking for the stolen limo pursued him. He drove into Maharishi, where the Krishnas killed the Russian mobsters. With the Krishna taking the blame for the Russian deaths, all key operatives were eliminated, and Valdez had Claude detonate the limousine before giving him $40,000.
The Zaibatsu contacted him soon after, requiring him to steal the Jefferson down at Krishna Krushers. He stole the Jefferson and took it to the Zaibatsu Power Cores. He was then told to smash and grab a Kovski Bulwark in the Russian area, and he took the Bulwark and its cargo to the Power Cores. Next, he was told to steal an unmarked car containing "two fine bitches" near Mad Island. He took the car and the women to the Zaibatsu Power Core Safehouse, and he was told that the final vehicle would test his wits. Claude had to steal a cop car on a trailer in Azeri Heights, so he needed a truck cab. He took the cab to the trailer and took the cab and trailer to a crane in Escobar. When the cop car was unloaded, he parked the car in the usual place at the Power Core, where he was given $40,000.
Next, Claude contacted the Russian Mafia boss Ivan Jerkov, hoping to get a job for him. Jerkov told him that a leading meat processing plant would make special hot dogs to feed his troops if he supplied the meat, so he told Claude to steal a bus and pick up people from bus stops. When the bus was full, he took it back to the plant, where the people were forced to march into the meatgrinders, turning them into the hot dogs. Next, Jerkov had him go to the Kovski Diner with the hot dog truck, and he was paid $40,000 for filling the Kovski belly.
Claude did another job for Jerkov, with Jerkov telling him that Zaibatsu dealers were cutting in on their drug trade. Claude collected the Z-Type that they parked and picked up three Z-dealers, which he delivered to the Azeri Heights Docks. They were killed, and Jerkov told Claude that he believed that next time they should save the motor car and make the Zaibatsus into hot dogs. However, Claude was not given any money for the job.
Claude decided to continue work for the Russians, and Jerkov told him to disrupt the marketplace and destroy two cop cars so that he could get a slice of police protection. After destroying the cars, health insurance went up. Next, Jerkov told him to get serious by destroying a SWAT van. After he did so, Jerkov told him that he wanted to compete with the government, so he destroyed two special agent cars. The city's emergency services were troubled thanks to him, and Jerkov gave him $60,000.
Next, Claude served as Jerkov's bodyguard when some Karma assassins were sent to kill him at a time when his good Kovski were drunk. He killed all seven hitmen, and he retaliated by killing assassin Nova Bright in an armored bus in a Tabernacle courtyard, using an orange car rigged with explosives to destroy the armored bus. Claude was given $60,000 for the job. Jerkov's next job for Claude was destroying three Zaibatsu tanks sent to crush his precious Kovski cars in revenge for him taking everything from some Zaibatsu executives at a poker table. After destroying the three tanks, Claude got $60,000.
Sunbeam contacted Claude ("Grasshopper") soon after, and he told him to meet some loyal Krishna converts for the job. He drove to Maharishi, where he picked up seven of the converts. Sunbeam told Claude that the Russian Kovski put out a contract on the Grand Master, and Claude decided to seek out and destroy the assassins. After killing all of the Russian assassins and drawing a few more out to kill them, he caused a riot in Krimea. Top Russian hitmen headed to kill him, but Claude killed all of them, and Sunbeam gave him $60,000 for saving the Grand Master.
Next, Sunbeam told Claude about another anti-Russian job: he needed to convert strong Russian workers for the Krishnas. He stole a truck from the Lubyanka Warehouse and headed for the Mad Island Docks, killing the ferocious guards. Next, he picked up the four groups of Krishnas and took them to the Conversion House beside Krishna Krushers, and he was given $60,000 for the job. Claude resumed work for Sunbeam shortly after when Sunbeam called him, telling him that loyal Krishna were being held as guinea pigs by the Zaibatsu, and he saved them before unconversion drugs could stop them from adhering to their Krishna faiths. For this, he was given another $60,000.
Claude decided to do more work for Uno Carb, who told him that he was selling legal drugs on the black market for twice the price. He told him to meet Ziggy Pole if he wanted in on the deal. Ziggy told him that the Kovski wanted better play-drugs like the new Mitsi, so he took him out. Next, he headed to meet another man rising up in the Zaibatsu ranks, and Carb told him that he should not pose a problem. He collected the cash for the drugs, and Carb told him to take out a high-ranking Kovski at the next dealer, although he might prove difficult. He killed the cash-dodger and his little gang after he refused to buy the drugs, and he headed to the last dealer, who was a loose cannon. He told Claude that he was being tailed, so he told him to meet his mute handler to pass up the money. After he collected the money, Claude was told by Carb to zoom to the Brown-Eye Sewage Works and steal a Kovski Truck by way of payment. He took the truck, and Carb told him to teach the Russians a lesson by utilizing the contraband reactor fuel. He found a way around the back of the sewage works and destroyed the old Soviet generators on the inside to open the entrance, and he stole the loaded trailer. He returned it to the garage, and Carb gave him $20,000 on top of the $40,000 that he owed him. Claude did another job for him, stealing a truck full of Zaibatsu AI Brain units from the Tedium Docks in exchange for $60,000, and he was told to stay in touch. He did so, and his next job involved starting a gang war to stop the Krishna conversions and Kovski black markets from crippling Zaibatsu enterprise. He headed to the Krishna quarter and ran down some "little orange people" at the Vedic Temple, killing 50. Then, he took a Krishna bus and executed 50 Kovski. Claude's next job was bringing a SWAT van to Carb to show the City Security Services that the Zaibatsu meant business, stopping them from getting too big for their boots. He stole a SWAT Van, and also a Special Agents' car, and Carb told him that he was the only operative he knew that had the guts to steal a tank. He did so, wiping the smug smiles from the faces of the security forces. Claude was given $80,000 for the job.

Years later, Claude reunited with his girlfriend Catalina and her newly-founded Colombian Cartel in New York City, and the two set out to rob a bank in Manhattan. They succeeded in grabbing the money, but Catalina turned around and shot Claude, saying that she was an ambitious girl and that he was too small-time for her. Claude was arrested, and the court found him guilty by a unanimous verdict, sentencing him for 10 years to life in prison.
Claude and 8-Ball
Soon after, he was transported to the penitentiary in an armored car along with explosives expert 8-Ball, an old Asian man, and two police guards as a part of a huge convoy. However, as they drove over the Brooklyn Bridge, bombs went off, causing several explosions that holed the bridge. Colombian Cartel members forced the police to let the Asian man go, and they fled with him. Claude and 8-Ball knocked out the police guards, and 8-Ball told Claude to drive him to a safe place in the Red Light District where they could stay, as his arms were messed up.
The safehouse
Claude drove over to the safehouse, which was located in an alleyway. 8-Ball and Claude got a change of clothes, with Claude putting on a leather outfit and ditching his orange convict clothing. When they left the safehouse, 8-Ball told Claude that he knew a guy who could get him some work. Claude drove over to Luigi's Sex Club 7 in the Red Light District, and 8-Ball told him to wait outside the service door around back while he went in to talk with Luigi Goterelli.

After a brief conversation, Luigi Goterelli and fellow Leone crime family mobster Mickey Hamfists walked outside. Luigi told Claude that he might be able to do some work for him, and Luigi told him that he needed him to pick up his girl Misty from the clinic. He told Claude that if he did good, he might have more work for him, and told him to keep his eyes on the road and off of Misty. Claude drove up to the clinic and honked his horn, getting Misty to enter the car. He drove back to the club, and he was given $1,500 for the favor.

Next, Claude returned for more work. Luigi left him a note that told him that some wiseguy was introducing his trash to his prostitutes at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, and told Claude to introduce a bat to his face. Luigi also told Claude to take his car and respray it, as he wanted compensation for the insult. Claude picked up a baseball bat across the street from the club and entered a car, which he drove to the navy yard. When he arrived, he saw the drug dealer Jamar Downard, and he beat him repeatedly with his baseball bat. Downard was pounded as he lay on the ground wounded, and Claude killed him. Next, Claude stole his car and drove it to a pay n' spray in town, where the engine was replaced and the car resprayed. Claude drove the car to Luigi's garage, and having completed the job, he was given $4,000.

Claude returned to Luigi for another job, and Luigi told Claude that his boss's son Joey Leone wanted some action from his regular prostitute, Misty, so Luigi had Claude pick up Misty again and take her to Joey Leone's garage. Claude picked her up and drove her to Joey, and Joey told Claude that he would have more work for him later.
Claude decided to take Joey's advice, and he entered his auto shop shortly after leaving it. He saw Joey speaking with Misty, who was getting impatient with him, asking him when he was going to "drill" her. Joey told Claude that Mike "Lips" Forelli owed him money, and he wanted to teach the Forelli crime family a lesson. He told Claude that he was stuffing his face at Marco's Bistro in Carroll Gardens, and told him to take his car from the parking lot, fit it with bombs from 8-Ball's bomb shop in Harwood, and return it to the lot, where he could watch the show. Joey warned him that Mike was not going to eat forever, so he told him to hurry up.

Claude headed over to Marco's Bistro, where he stole the car from the lot. He quickly took it to the bomb shop, where he fitted it with a bomb. He also repaired it at a pay n' spray to fix the damage done to the car, and Claude delivered the car back to the parking lot. He activated the bomb before heading to the sidewalk, where he waited. Mike left the restaurant and entered his car, and when he put the key in the ignition, the car exploded, killing him. Claude was given $10,000 for the hit.

After that, Claude was told by Luigi that a Diablos pimp, Angel Colorado, was attempting to take his girls from him. Luigi sent Claude to take care of him in Harwood, and told him to watch himself, as it was Diablos turf. Claude picked up a "nine" pistol from behind the Ammu-Nation gun store opposite the subway, and drove to Harwood, where he found the car. He rammed it, forcing the two men to get out. He shot Colorado and his Diablos bodyguard, and he was paid $4,000.

Claude returned to Luigi for one last job, and Luigi told him that the policeman's ball was being held at the Old School Hall near the Brooklyn Bridge. Luigi told him that the police would want some "old school action". Claude was told that Luigi had girls all over town walking the streets, and he needed to get them to the ball, where they would make a bundle. Claude picked up four girls from across town in two trips using a taxi, and he dropped them off at the ball. He was paid $2,000 for this errand, his last job for Luigi.

After that, he dropped by Joey's auto garage for another job for him. Joey told him that a new gang from Colombia came into town, and a man named "Chunky" Lee Chong was pushing the new drug SPANK on the streets. Claude was told by Joey that the "rat ha(d) sold his last stir fry", and he told him to get rid of him. He warned him to be careful, as Chinatown was the turf of the Queensbridge Triads. Claude picked up some ammo for his pistol at the Ammu-Nation, and he drove to the alley. He shot three Triad guards and a responding NYPD officer, before he shot Lee in the back three times as he attempted to flee. He was paid $10,000 for the hit.
Claude returned to Joey for some more money, and Joey told him to hit the payroll van as it left Chinatown. It had lots of money in it, and he told him that if he rammed the car off the road, the "punk-ass driver" would bail. Claude took a heavy vehicle and rammed the van until the guard fled, and Claude delivered the van to Joey's garage. Claude was rewarded with $20,000.
