The DeCicco Crime Family, known as the Hazel Park Crime Syndicate, the Hazel Park Mafia, or the Hazel Park Mob, is an Italian-American organized crime syndicate based in Hazel Park, Michigan. It is part of the Italian Mafia.

History[]

The DeCicco crime family can trace its origins back to Trapani, Sicily. Massimo DeCicco was an Italian immigrant who came to America in 1879 and settled in the small town of Hazel Park, Michigan. The DeCicco Crime Family started out as a gang of black handers called "The DeCicco Gang", founded by Massimo and a group of friends. They went around extorting money from Non-Italian businesses. Eventually, they became known as the "DeCicco Crime Family" after Massimo DeCicco becomes the local padrone. The DeCiccos had been involved in various murders, including that of John F. Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, Robert F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Sam Giancana, Jimmy Hoffa, Anthony Spilotro, Michael Spilotro, and Henry Hill. They were also involved in the attempted murder of future U.S. Senator Lucas Loud back in 1998 when he was a prosecutor cracking down on organized crime and they have been involved in the murder of Royal Woods baseball coach Warren Harris, which was carried out by Jimmy DeCicco Jr., after which he became a made man. By 2016, the DeCicco family is the most powerful Mafia family in America with Giovanni DeCicco as its Don. When Johnny took over in 1973 as Acting Don, he was the youngest mob boss during the 1970s. He officially took over when his father died on March 9, 1986 of natural causes. He is the only remaining powerful mob boss to have never been arrested, making him the capo di tutti capi of the Mafia.
