Biography[]

Harold

Harold Cartwright, 1961

Cartwright was born in Mile End to a 20 year-old British mother. He had a sister named Beryl. Raised in Mile End, he became a gangster and some people said "When one of the (Crisp) Twins fart, he says 'new Cologne?'". Cartwright claimed not to be afraid of anything, but he was really afraid of the Crisp Twins. He gained the work of Maurice Caine, a new criminal, and used him to kill Chalkey Golson and also sent him to meet with a mod gang in West Chelsea for a drug deal at their club. He ordered Maurice to kill the four teal-suited gangsters, using a flamethrower to roast them. He next sent him to South Camberwell to blow up a coach that was supposed to carry the Rangers soccer team, as he had a flutter on the football. Caine instead carried the team in a taxi, taking them to Honest Ray's Auto Garage in South Brixton, detaining them for a few hours. Old Keith and Harold made lots of money by holding the team hostage.

When the Noles Brothers taxed five grand off Cartwright and a lot of blues, Caine was sent to deal with the Noles gang. He found out that the Noles Brothers were making a deal in Northeast Bow and was sent to kill them, and retrieved his drugs.

Later, when Jack Parkinson planned a robbery of a bank in East Chelsea, he wanted a piece of it and sent Caine to look after Parkinson's girlfriend Sidney Moore, who was scoping out the job while at a picnic. He planned out the heist, gathering some of his crew to prepare for the robbery.

Death[]

Eventually, Cartwright was marked for death by Albert Crisp. Maurice Caine was sent to kill him, and he shot him dead with an assault rifle. Cartwright's death ended the powerful Cartwright Gang.
