Biography[]

Nicholas Klaus was born in Germany, but he immigrated to the United States, settling in northern New Jersey. Known to be a heavy drinker, he hosted various parties at his house in Jersey City. Klaus became a businessman who was allied with the Cuneo crime family, and he was protected by eagle-eyed bodyguards who could spot a gun from a mile away, compliments of Don Carmine Cuneo

Death[]

In 1956, during the Five Families War, Corleone crime family capo Rocco Lampone sent Aldo Trapani to whack him at a party that he was holding. Because his guards were very good, Lampone wanted Trapani to walk up casually without drawing a weapon, and he would knock off Klaus by strangling him. Trapani headed to the party, walking straight past the Cuneo guards, and he grabbed Klaus after he flirted with a female guest. Trapani strangled Klaus to death with his bare hands, cracking his neck at the end. Trapani was paid $30,000 for the hit.
