Paul Zaluchi was the Don of the Zaluchi crime family from 1972 to 1980, when he was killed in the helicopter attack on Atlantic City.

Biography[]

Zaluchi was the son of Joseph Zaluchi and Giancarla Radice, two Sicilian parents. Paul was born in Detroit in his father's territory and became family Underboss, working for him on various diplomatic missions, as his father was peaceful and was never involved in mob warfare after 1931, when he exterminated the Purple Gang. Zaluchi was the Don after his father's death in 1972, and was Don until 1979, when he died.

Death[]

When The Commission was called in 1979 at the Palazzo Azzurro in Atlantic City to recieve their shares in Michael Corleone's casinos due to his retirement, Zaluchi was due for some money, as he was a close friend of the Corleones. However, the meeting was destroyed when Joey Zasa, Don of the Clemenza crime family, and Osvaldo Altobello of the Tattaglia crime family conspired to eliminate the board, killing twelve and seriously wounding 10. Zaluchi was mortally wounded and died a week later from complications.
