Robert "Frenchy" MacMahon was an associate of the Lucchese crime family who was also a baggage handler at the Air France International Airport, the "commandant" from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. MacMahon was murdered in 1979 because of his involvement in the Lufthansa Heist.

Biography Edit

MacMahon was born in New York to a family of Irish heritage, nicknamed "Frenchy" because his family also came from France. He worked as a night shift supervisor at the Air France Airport, assisting the 1967 Air France Robbery by giving Lucchese crime family Jimmy Conway the keys, as he was associated with the Lucchese Family.

He assisted the Luccheses again in 1978 in the Lufthansa Heist, where he would distract the guards from the robbery scene, alongside Joe Buddha. MacMahon succeeded in his job, and treated his money carefully, obeying Conway's rule not to spend the money yet. However, he was one of the targets on Conway's hit list, since he assisted the heist, and could be liable.

MacMahon was murdered on May 16, 1979, in Brooklyn, and his body was discovered in a garbage truck alongside Buddha. A worker noticed two dead bodies falling into the truck from the trash cans, so he told the truck driver to stop the crushing, and the NYPD examined the bodies, and verified their identities.
