Biography[]
Baumgardner was born in Queens, New York City, of German-Jewish descent. Baumgardner attended Harvard, and mastered business and economics, and founded Baumgardner Packing Co., working with Douglas Puchi. Puchi was "a few sandwiches short of a picnic", according to Baumgardner, and Puchi was taking over most of the shares of the money, so Baumgardner gave Dominic a hit contract. Dominic drove to the area outside The Empire Room, where Puchi was walking. Dominic proceeded to shoot Puchi in the back of the leg, shooting him in the back of the head, execution-style, as his crew (Tommy Mancini, Roy Mancini, and Leroy Petriboni) shot him ten times with Modified AK-47s.
